1.What is the funniest thing you remember as a child?
When my family and I went to a zoo in Malaysia six years ago, one ostrich was interesting. There was an ostrich inside the fence and I was just outside the fence. I ran and the ostrich chased me inside the fence. It was like a game of tag. When the ostrich didn't quite catch up to me, I felt like I had won over the ostrich. Other tourists were scared.
2.What is the one piece of clothing you wish you owned?
I would like to have an adult kimono (traditional Japanese costume) made by my mother's grandparents.
My great-grandfather was a dyer of Nishijin textiles, known for its high quality kimonos in Kyoto. My great-grandmother was a kimono weaver; they both ran a kimono workshop and made kimonos. I still have some of their children's kimonos in my house, but no adult kimonos.
I would like to treasure any adult kimonos they made.
3.What season of the year is your favorite and why?
I love winter.
Because in winter we have Christmas, New Year and my birthday in January, and we can get together and have a big party. Another reason is that I get presents and New Year's gifts. I also like winter sports such as skiing and ice skating.
4.What is your favorite movie?
I like Princess Mononoke.
First of all, I love the picture. The wolves and deer are cool and drawn in a cool way. The story is also very interesting. It is about a 17 year old boy in medieval Japan who is possessed and nature is destroyed because he killed a monster, but he works with his daughter who was raised by wild dogs to restore nature. I especially like a wolf named Moro.
5.What song makes you think of yourself?
It is the theme song “The Song of Teru” for a movie called Gedo Senki. The themes are eagles, flowers, and the loneliness of human beings. I have many good times, but sometimes I feel very lonely. When I hum this song at such times, I feel as if there is someone else who feels the same way.
